HAMLINK BRIDGE

Install the station app on your PC.

HamLink Bridge is the software that sits beside your radio. It tunes a local frequency, hears digital ham signals, and turns them into plain text — then syncs that text to your HamLink inbox.

After download: extract the ZIP, register this PC under Settings → Devices, then run python -m hamlink_bridge setup (or node hamlink-agent.js setup) and paste your Device ID and secret.

01

Radio becomes text

Bridge tunes the SDR, demodulates a digital mode, and writes only text.

02

Radio to radio

Two Bridges on the same local frequency exchange text without internet.

Country to country

Relay stations hold the text and hop it to the next country.

Frequency is local — not worldwide

HamLink never hard-codes one global frequency. Each country has its own recommended channel. Set yours in Settings → Regulatory Profile, then Bridge tunes the SDR to that frequency.

RTL-SDR hears. A licensed radio talks. An RTL-SDR dongle can only receive. Bridge decodes FT8, PSK31, RTTY, and AX.25 to text on the PC. Sending text to another station needs a Hamlib radio + Dire Wolf. Relays and gateways are opt-in and never enabled by installing Bridge.
